St Agnes AFC Dis-Ability Youth

11th July 2021

Today was a really lovely positive occasion for members of St Agnes AFC Dis-Ability Youth as we marked and celebrated the end of the 2020/21 Season.

A really super session today at our own Wembley - Chiverton Park - football, pasties, drinks and treats with medals for all our youth players who have inspired us all throughout the last season with the extra challenges it presented!

Skye was so delighted she summed it up really well commenting, "I am so proud," as she left with her medal! Skye you inspire us all we are all VERY proud of you!

Fin took part in his last youth session as he graduates to adult football at 16 years!

Thank you to all the wonderful players, coaches, volunteers, young helpers and sponsors who help support our wonderful squad!

A big special thank you to Referee Paul Minns for supporting today's event - it's wonderful for the players to have a qualified referee for their matches! This helps them feel valued and that their matches are really important - Paul's support for the coaches in helping explain decisions and 'laws of the game' is so valued! Thank you Paul Minns!

A big well done to 16 year old Fin playing in his first adult fixture and totally smashing it between the sticks! Awesome work Fin!

St Agnes AFC Under 15's Win County Cup

28th June 2021

Congratulations to St Agnes AFC u15's who lifted the Cornwall FA County Cup today after a very entertaining Cup Final v Torpoint.

The underdogs throughout this whole competition St Agnes faced a strong high flying Torpoint and they put heart and soul into every touch of the ball. Sam opened the St Agnes scoring with a tremendous strike in the opening minute. Torpoint were dominant and equalised before halftime and then went ahead just after halftime but the St Agnes boys kept battling. Kian was alert to a short corner striking the equalizer in the dying minutes of ordinary time. Extra time loomed and concluded with the scores still level. Penalties went to sudden death with St Agnes lifting the cup. A special mention to our 'keeper Tom standing in for Lucas who has a broken arm and pulling off some crucial saves!

Well done to both teams on a keenly contested well played final - an exciting nail biting game to watch!

Thank you to Cornwall FA for a brilliantly hosted and planned Cup Final occasion. Great work from all 3 match officials and a special thank you to all the managers, coaches and volunteers making grassroots football happen in Cornwall.

Football Returns - The FA Return to Football Covid Guidance

29th March 2021

Step One Guidance On The Return Of Grassroots Football

Virtual Club Safeguarding Visit

10th February 2021

Football may be in Lockdown for the time being owing to the current covid pandemic but Safeguarding continues to be at the heart of the grassroot game here in Cornwall! Cornwall FA County Welfare Officer Claire Summer-Evans had been due to carry out visits to club sessions as she does each season across the county but, with no football happening, these have gone virtual! How proactive is that! Lockdown is a great opportunity for everyone to look at qualifications and check-in on how things are going! Thank you Claire (and Richard) for a really positive catch up with St Agnes AFC! Thank you to all our amazing volunteer coaches and helpers for all the work you do to help keep football safe!
Safeguarding is EVERYONE's responsibility.
Please see linked posters for reminder of how to contact our St Agnes AFC Club Welfare Officer and Whistleblowing.
For any more information follow the link to Cornwall FA website and Safeguarding & Welfare pages.

St Agnes AFC Ladies v Helston

31st January 2021

Just before Christmas St Agnes AFC Ladies played their final football of 2020 v Helston in the CWFL. A spirited hyping fixture which might have finished with a different result had the Helston 'keeper been penalised for handling the ball outside the area during the first 10 minutes. We wish Helston luck in their promotion quest to SWRWFL in the 2021/22 Season.

With Lockdown upon everyone at the start of January 21 and all football ceased the Ladies are missing their Soccer Sundays! Training Wednesdays are just not the same without seeing everyone on the astro pitch at Truro College - even in the rain/wind/hail that graces us most sessions!

We all hope everyone is staying safe and well and we look forward to getting back to football as and when we are able!

New players of any level of ability always welcome to join us!
